ATV can provide valves in a wide range of materials to meet specific need of each application.

Material range includes:

- Carbon steels
- High strenght microalloyed and low alloy steels
- Austenitic and superaustenitic steels
- Duplex and superduplex stainless steels
- Nickel alloys
- Titanium alloys.

Materials are sourced from qualified suppliers on the base of specifications which reflect the industry standards (ASTM, NORSOK, BS, DIN or others) but are also incorporating additional requisitions resulting from long experience.
ATV prefers forged material (where feasible) in consideration of the intrinsical soundness of forgings vs. castings and can produce large bore valves with forged design.
ATV is experienced with the hot isostatic pressed components technology and can provide HIPPED parts in alloy 625 and superduplex on specific applications
Severe field service conditions and extended life expectations set the requirement for use of corrosion resisting overlays in alloy 625.
ATV can supply valves with partial cladding of internal sealing surfaces or full cladding in Inconel 625 of internal surfaces.
Cladding is carried out on the spot using approved welding procedures in compliance with ASME Sect. IX and DNV OSF101 requirements.

ATV can supply ball valves and through conduit gate valves with metal to metal sealing with tungsten carbide HVOF coating for the highest reliability and resistance to line media solid particles.

ATV has the expertise to grant class A rate of leakages even on large size-HP gas testing.

 
 
     
   
 
ATV operates a comprehensive and stringent Quality System according to ISO 9001-2000 and API Q1.
Quality control activities are carried out by well staffed Quality Control Department using state of the art equipment:

- Metrological inspection tools
- Pressure gages calibration unit
- Coordinate Measuring Machine – size 3000 x 2500 x 2000
- Portable Coordinate Measuring Arm
- Optical spectrometer for PMI
- Hardness testers for Brinell, Vickers and Rockwell
- Particle counters for verification of oil contamination level
- Ultrasonic NDE inspection unit with set of probes
- Magnetic particle inspection equipment
- Liquid penetrant inspection facility
- Leak test spectrometer Varian
- Surface roughness tester
- Film thickness reader and holiday detector

NDE inspectors are qualified according to ASNTC1-A and EN473 standards.

The factory includes 7500 sq.m (75.000 sq.ft) under roof and is served with lifting capacity up to 70 tons.
The plant layout resulted from many years of experience and ensures a smooth material flow and the highest level of safety to the operators during high pressure testing.
ATV manufacturing plant includes state of the art test facilities for the qualification of high pressure large bore valves and sub sea actuators to the most demanding industry standards (API6A, API17D) and customer’s specifications.

The following test facilities are available:
- Test benches 250 ton, 600 ton, 1200 ton, 2400 ton
- Small bore hyperbaric chambers rated 1500 m wd
- Small hyperbaric chamber - vertical tank 0,4m Ø ID rated 1500m wd.
- Small hyperbaric chamber - vertical tank 0,25m Ø ID rated 3.000m wd.
- Large hyperbaric chamber - vertical tank w/fast locking cover rated 4500m (2Q2009)

- All the valve test rigs are equipped with
computer controlled data logging.
- Hydraulic power units.
- Automated rigs for endurance testing.
- Sand slurry loop – 5 1/8”.
- Structural bending test rig.
- Clean room for assembly of critical hydraulic components
(to grant NAS6 level of cleanliness)
- Actuator flushing stands.
- ROV tooling with torque reading and turns counting capability.
- Performance test machines for linear and rotary actuators.

The ATV manufacturing process is carried out partially in house outsourcing the balance from a number of qualified subcontractors at close distance from the main plant.
ATV Machining Department is equipped with modern CNC machine tools supported by CAD-CAM software.

The current machine list includes:
- Horizontal and vertical CNC Machining Centers
- Horizontal / Vertical Machining Center with pallet changer
- CNC vertical turret lathe with pallet changer
- CNC parallel lathes
- Surface grinding machine
- Lapping machine
- Milling, drilling etc. machines

Assembly and testing are carried out in house by skilled personnel.
